ItsDeductible alternatives compared (2026)
Compare DeductAble, DeductibleDuck, CharityRecord, TurboTax, H&R Block, TaxAct, and the free DIY route on price, photo recognition, ItsDeductible import, and tax exports.
DeductAble combines AI-assisted entry, catalog values you approve, and tax-ready exports in one year-round donation tracker. Describe or photograph what you gave; AI identifies each item and matches it to a fair market value from our catalog that you review and approve. Bring your ItsDeductible history, export PDF or CSV for your tax preparer, and add receipt attachments and TXF for TurboTax Desktop with Premium. Use the native iPhone app or the web app on iPad, Android, Mac, and PC. On iPad, open app.deductable.ai in Safari for a full-screen experience. At $19.99/year, Premium has the lowest paid subscription price among the donation trackers compared here.
Since Intuit shut down ItsDeductible on October 21, 2025, former users have mostly landed in one of three places: a year-round donation tracker, the donation value tool built into their tax software, or a free charity price guide and their own spreadsheet. We compare DeductAble, DeductibleDuck, and CharityRecord alongside TurboTax's Fair Market Value tool, H&R Block's DeductionPro, TaxAct's Donation Assistant, and the free do-it-yourself route — features and pricing checked on each company's own website in September 2026 (TurboTax: Intuit's own product and support pages). If a capability isn't stated by the company, the table says "Not published" rather than guessing.
ItsDeductible Alternatives: Side-by-Side Comparison
Prices and features checked on each company's own website, September 2026. The TurboTax column was verified against Intuit's own product and support pages; the do-it-yourself column describes the Salvation Army and Goodwill value guides and IRS Publication 561 as published.

DeductAble users have tracked and valued more than 450,000 individual donated items for tax deductions.
How Each ItsDeductible Alternative Stacks Up
DeductAble
DeductAble brings the ItsDeductible workflow into one donation tracker: record goods, cash, and mileage throughout the year, attach receipts with Premium, and prepare your exports when tax time comes. In 3.0, describe or photograph what you gave and the AI assistant builds the record. AI identifies each item and matches it to a fair market value from our catalog that you review and approve. You can also find items with fuzzy lookup and tiered catalog search. The native iPhone app records donations offline and syncs when you reconnect. On iPad, open app.deductable.ai in Safari for a full-screen experience; the web app also covers Android, Mac, and PC on the same account. AI assistance and the web app require an internet connection. It checks each organization's 501(c)(3) status and EIN, and its ItsDeductible CSV import also accepts XLSX and ZIP, naming any row it cannot import by organization, date, and row number. DeductAble users have tracked more than 450,000 donated items.
Plan details: the free plan includes up to 5 donations, AI photo recognition (with a free account), cloud sync, and PDF and CSV export. Premium is $19.99/year for unlimited donations, receipt attachments, TurboTax Desktop TXF export, and a Form 8283 worksheet in the PDF when non-cash donations exceed $500. There is no native Android app; Android users access the web app in their browser.
DeductibleDuck
DeductibleDuck is a web-based tracker whose free tier is capped by donation value (its homepage says up to $1,000 tracked; its FAQ says $500) before the $29.99/year plan, and it self-reports more than 20,000 users. It covers items, money, stock, and mileage, imports ItsDeductible CSV and ZIP exports, fills in each charity's EIN from the IRS database, exports a TXF file that fills Schedule A in TurboTax Desktop, offers CSV, PDF, and HTML exports, and generates Form 8283 worksheets for your CPA. What it lacks: its site does not describe photo recognition or an AI assistant, it has no native iPhone or iPad app, it needs an internet connection, and receipt attachments are limited to item donations on the paid plan.
CharityRecord
CharityRecord positions itself around rescuing ItsDeductible data: CSV or XLSX import, seven donation types (including digital assets and art), values for 1,800+ items, and export to CSV, PDF, HTML, or TXF. The free tier covers up to $500 tracked with CSV export only; the paid plan is $29.99/year with a 30-day refund policy. Its import preview flags any rows it can't process. What it lacks: its site does not describe photo recognition, mobile apps and receipt attachments are listed as on its roadmap rather than shipped, and you look up charity EINs on the IRS site yourself.
TurboTax Online (Fair Market Value tool)
In March 2026 Intuit added a Fair Market Value (FMV) tool to TurboTax Online. In the Donations to charity section you select "Help me value my donations", search an item catalog, and TurboTax returns two condition-based estimates — excellent/like-new and fair/used — which you then enter yourself. For a donor who itemizes and values everything in one sitting at tax time it may be enough. What it lacks: it is not a tracker. It runs only inside the return you are filing, so there is no year-round log and no multi-year history, and Intuit does not document an ItsDeductible import. Intuit documents it for TurboTax Online only, and it sits behind Schedule A — which TurboTax Free Edition excludes — so in practice it requires Deluxe ($79 federal, state extra) or higher. It is also not a revival of ItsDeductible: Intuit's own help article answers "Is the FMV tool the same as ItsDeductible?" with "No".
H&R Block Online (DeductionPro)
H&R Block includes DeductionPro in its Online Deluxe, Premium, and Self-Employed products. In the Charitable Donation topic you choose "Enter and Value Items", enter quantities by item type, and DeductionPro values them from thrift shop prices and enters the total into your return. It is a good fit if you already file with H&R Block and itemize. What it lacks: like TurboTax's tool, it lives inside the return, so there is no year-round donation log, H&R Block does not document photo capture or an ItsDeductible import, and H&R Block Free Online excludes itemized deductions, so it requires Online Deluxe ($65 federal plus $49 per state) or higher.
TaxAct (Donation Assistant)
TaxAct includes Donation Assistant in its Deluxe, Premier, and Self-Employed products. When you enter noncash contributions you choose Donation Assistant as the entry method, add each donation event with its items, and TaxAct supplies what it calls "certified resale values". Unlike TurboTax's tool, which Intuit documents for TurboTax Online only, it is documented both online and in TaxAct's desktop software, and it records separate donation events, each with its own date and items. Its federal price is the lowest of the three tax-software routes ($59.99 for Deluxe), though its state fee is higher than H&R Block's. What it lacks: it still lives inside the return you are filing, so there is no log outside that year's return, TaxAct does not document photo capture, receipt attachments, or an ItsDeductible import, the TaxAct app does not document it, and TaxAct's free filing excludes itemized deductions, so it requires Deluxe ($59.99 federal plus $64.99 per state) or higher.
The free do-it-yourself route: charity value guides, IRS Publication 561, and a spreadsheet
The route many former ItsDeductible users fall back on costs nothing. The Salvation Army publishes a donation value guide with a low and a high price for common items — $78 to $259 for a working refrigerator, $36 to $207 for a sofa — and says plainly that it does not set a valuation on your donation. Goodwill's national valuation PDF is old (the current file dates from 2017), and most local Goodwill guides reuse one range list first published in 2011, though some affiliates publish their own figures. IRS Publication 561 supplies the rules: fair market value is what a willing buyer would pay a willing seller, clothing and household items must be in good used condition or better, and thrift-shop prices indicate value — but it publishes no price list. Pair them with a spreadsheet and you have a donation log you maintain yourself, and your old ItsDeductible CSV opens in the same spreadsheet. It can suit occasional donors who are comfortable doing the item lookups and keeping their own records. What it lacks: every value, receipt, and total is manual, nothing checks a charity's 501(c)(3) status for you, there is no TurboTax export, and you fill in Form 8283 yourself. Our Salvation Army donation value guide and Goodwill donation value guide summarize both charities' figures.
Which ItsDeductible Alternative Should You Choose?
- Choose DeductAble if you want to record donations with less manual entry, bring your ItsDeductible history forward, and keep your donation records and tax exports together. Use the iPhone app or the web app on iPad, Android, Mac, and PC. PDF and CSV work with your tax preparer or filing workflow; Premium adds receipt attachments and TXF for TurboTax Desktop.
- Choose DeductibleDuck if you want a free tier capped by donation value rather than donation count and are comfortable looking items up manually in a web browser.
- Choose CharityRecord if you prefer manual item entry and specifically need HTML exports alongside CSV, PDF, and TXF. It also accepts ItsDeductible CSV and XLSX imports.
- Use TurboTax's, H&R Block's, or TaxAct's built-in tool if you already pay for a tier that supports itemized deductions and are happy to value a whole year of donations while you file. These tools are the last step rather than an alternative to a tracker — most former ItsDeductible users keep a year-round log and bring the totals into their tax software.
- Use the free do-it-yourself route if you give a few times a year, are comfortable looking up each value in the Salvation Army or Goodwill guide, and would rather keep your own spreadsheet and receipts than pay for a tracker.
